Pattern Discovery
Hidden by default
Pattern discovery is disabled by default and is no longer linked from the application
navigation. The feature is still available to app administrators who navigate directly to
/admin/pattern-discovery and enable it there.
Administration -> Pattern Discovery enables or disables local pattern discovery - an optional analysis that finds repeated structured values in Jira content that existing rules do not cover.
- The page shows the current enabled/disabled state.
- Toggle the setting to enable or disable discovery.
- Setting changes are saved immediately and audited.
- Discovery runs locally; no external AI service or cloud processing is used.
Raw samples are process-memory only and bounded per scan to 10,000 content blocks and five million characters. They are deleted immediately after discovery completes or fails. Crash leftovers expire after one hour, and at most eight scan samples are retained at once.
Discovered patterns appear as Pattern Suggestions.
